BS UPDATE: MJF on Tour // NY Hot Jazz Camp, Gotham Jazz Festival, Django A Gogo & The Town Hall

Hi Everybody!

This update is coming to you from the back of the band van as the Monterey Jazz Festival on Tour treks to our penultimate show of this epic tour. 24 cities in 4 weeks! The experience has been musically amazing with so much musicianship and trust building, and we've all bonded in ways I know will impact the rest of our lives. It's been a joy to meet and make friends along the way.

I won't have too much time to reminisce because in just over a week the 4th annual New York Hot Jazz Camp gets underway! This year we have over 50 people aged 15-80 from all over the US, Canada, Sweden, Germany, and even a special scholarship student I met last year in El Salvador. Wild times!

The camp has partnered once again with Prohibition Productions to host our final concerts as part of the Gotham Jazz Festival on Sunday April 28th at the Players Club and you can come! This year's festival boasts a stellar line up of the very best local trad and swing bands as well as the uber funky High and Mighty Brass Band from Brooklyn. Last year's event sold out, so CLICK HERE to quickly find out more about coming to this fantastic celebration of our community and beyond.

Speaking of community, my friend and soon to be collaborator Stephane Wrembel is running a guitar camp that week focusing on the music of Django Reinhardt with a major show at The Town Hall Saturday April 27th called Django A Gogo. I sat in with his group at Joe's Pub a little while ago, and now I'll be playing a few tunes on that concert too! I'll be back at the historic Town Hall a week later with a major cool concert as the Town Hall Ensemble led by Steven Bernstein supports the amazing Senegalese singer and guitarist Baaba Maal (Black Panther soundtrack).

All right, that's what's going on! I'm still planning to release the new album early Fall and I will share much more about that in the next update. Thank you so much for reading this if you got this far :)

Hope to see you out on the adventure trail!!
