Hey Folks,
September's right around the corner, which means it's back to school time! More than shopping, I'm excited to be getting back into the classrooms; I'll be working with Jazz At Lincoln Center once again for their Jazz for Young People outreach program which visits multiple public schools throughout the year to teach jazz history alongside social history in the United States to students K-12. Teaching these subjects is both humbling and empowering as I dig deeper into the foundation of the music I love to play, and speak on topics with the intention of promoting peace within the next generation.
I'm also looking forward to shows this next month in Maryland, Washington East & West + Pennsylvania culminating at a blowout bash as the New York Hot Jazz Festival celebrates its 5th Anniversary September 24th! Among these performances I'll be playing everything from hot King Oliver stomps to soulful Aretha Franklin covers (Sept 16th) with small bands to symphony orchestras. It's going to be a wild time! All dates below.
